Urinary tract infections (UTI) are common during pregnancy [1]. Women are significantly more likely to be affected by UTI due to anatomical issues, such as proximity of the urethra to the anus [2]. Additionally, 90% of pregnant women develop anatomical changes such as dilatation of urethra and decreased bladder tone leading to urinary stasis [3–5].
