Full Description:
Ship's Bells were originally used to signal the passage of time during a typical four-hour watch that was stood by members of the ship's crew. The bell would then be rung every half hour, so after the passage of the first half hour the bell would be rung once, after the first hour it would be rung twice, etc. At the end of four hours, the bell would be rung eight times, and then a new shift of crew members would take over the watch and repeat the same pattern by ringing the bell once after the passage of their first half hour of standing watch.

This fully functional Ship's Bells come with a braided rope and produces a loud, pure tone. This bell is perfect for mounting on a powerboat or sailboat, outside on a porch, or even in your office.
