Black Moshannon is named for the color of the water in the 250-acre lake, which flows into the lake from springs and streams, through bogs, to the larger body, creating a tea-like color. During the summer season, boat rentals are available, and visitors can swim at the park beach. During colder months, the lake freezes over, perfect for ice boating and ice skating.
